University of Maryland Medical Center Linac Replacement
Baltimore, MD
The University of Maryland Medical Center engaged Mazzuca Contracting in a Design-Build delivery method to design and execute a very face pace, technically challenging linear accelerator project in an active Radiation Oncology department.
Mazzuca hired the design team and engaged key subcontractors to develop a plan to start/finish design, apply and obtain permits, and develop a budget to execute the work in an extremely short time frame.
Mazzuca used their knowledge and expertise to lead the hospital through the design process and into construction. We provided valuable input for constructability and feasibility while working hand in hand with the equipment vendor, Varian, to ensure the project will meet the client’s needs and expectations.
The scope of work included, but was not limited to selective demolition, heavy concrete removal, concrete pour, new MEP systems, architectural millwork, and new interior finishes.
