Social Media Marketing Specialist / Business Development


  • Mazzuca Contracting is looking for an energetic and creative Social Media Marketing & Business Development Specialist to use their skills to further develop and enhance our commercial construction company's social media presence by promoting target-focused, interactive, and engaging content. The candidate will be responsible for further developing and executing our social media strategy, overseeing the set up and optimization of company pages within multiple social media platforms, and create innovative social media campaigns. Their ultimate goal will be achieving superior client engagement, increasing website traffic, and expanding our opportunities for revenue by strategically optimizing all aspects of social media marketing. Another main goal will be to recruit potential candidates for employment by promoting the corporate culture through Social Media. This role may evolve to include direct client Business Development with added incentives for securing construction projects.
  • Develop, execute, and oversee our social media strategy
  • Create, edit, publish and share daily social content and posts (copy, images, video, etc.) to increase relevant connections and encourage involvement
  • Set up, optimize, and enhance our company pages within each social media platform to increase the visibility of our social content
  • Collect data and analytics to present reports to Executive Team to aide in improving future marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Grow and expand our social media presence into new social media platforms and increase our presence on existing platforms

Requirements Include

Business Development Manager – Commercial Corporate Interior Construction

Mazzuca Contracting is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, sales professional to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have construction related contacts & experience in Commercial Corporate Interior Construction.  This person will be responsible for developing new business opportunities with tenants, brokers, architects, engineers, construction managers, building owners, property managers, etc. and managing and maintaining those relationships.

Business Development Manager’s Role

  • Improve Mazzuca Contracting’s market position and help achieve financial growth.
  • Define long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and closesbusiness deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
  • Work with the internal team, marketing staff, and other managers to increase sales opportunities and maximize revenue.
  • Find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future.

Job Description

  • Primary role is to prospect for new clients by networking, cold calling, or other means of generating interest from potential clients.
  • Expand Mazzuca Contracting’s DC, NOVA, and Maryland market presence and build positive top of mind awareness.
  • Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities.
  • Arranging business meetings with prospective clients independently and at times along with Mazzuca Contracting’s executive managers
  • Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with Mazzuca Contracting
  • Must develop a rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship.
  • Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients.
  • Work with mid and senior level management, marketing, and technical staff.
  • Strategic planning to develop the pipeline of new business coming into the company.
  • Thorough knowledge of the market and of our company’s competitors is required

  • Coordinate and manage the sales/proposal process with Mazzuca Contracting’s marketing, estimator, project manager and senior management team.

New Business Development

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities – Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network.
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Set up meetings between client decision makers and company’s practice leaders/Principals.
  • Plan approaches and pitches – Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Participate in pricing and proposal submissions
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion – Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
  • Present an image that mirrors that of the client.

Client Retention

  • Present new technology, solutions, and services and enhance existing relationships.
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

Business Development Planning

  • Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences to stay abreast of market conditions, competition, and establish relationships with existing clients and prospects; provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
  • Research and analyze key economic factors that may influence market activity within specific niche markets or geographic areas.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Help develop and manage the execution of the marketing budget and sales plan

Management and Research

  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company’s CRM or other sales management system.
  • Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work with marketing staff to ensure that prerequisites (like prequalification or getting on a vendor list) are fulfilled within a timely manner.
  • Ensure all team members represent the company in the best light.
  • Present business development training and mentoring to business developers and other internal staff.
  • Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that it will be continual to enhance the company’s performance.

Education / Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of sales or marketing experience in the construction industry or related to it with a successful track record.
  • Broad and in-depth business background with a reasonable working knowledge of the technical aspects of commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to establish profitable relationships with decision makers at companies and organizations.
  • Outstanding presentation and relationship building skills.

Construction – Project Manager/Sr. Project Manager


  • Develop new clients and maintain existing client relationships

Construction - Assistant Project Manager


  • Set up and maintain project office and records, including project directory, submittal logs, RFI logs, material delivery logs, close out logs, etc., and assist with the day-to-day management of scheduled activities on projects.
  • Process shop drawings and submittals, logging and tracking all project documentation; e.g. shop drawings, RFI’s, ASI’s, proposal requests, and change orders.
  • Support creation and management of project schedules.
  • Identify and resolve field issues.
  • Prepare and process all close-out materials; e.g. as-built drawings, warranties, lien releases, operation and maintenance manuals and punch list control.
  • Coordinate work with site subcontractors, inspectors, architects, engineers, and project owner representatives.

Construction - Project Superintendent


  • Manage projects that meet or beat the Project Schedules and gross margin targets

  • Coordinate, and review all on site work to be sure it is accurate within the Construction Document
  • Review and coordinate contract drawings, specifications, submittals and shop drawings to ensure proper installation
  • Coordinate layout in accordance with all project requirements
  • Maintain a safe job site with zero incidents

Requirements Include

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years of construction management experience at the Assistant Superintendent or above level
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and Project or similar scheduling software
  • Working Conditions: Field environment. May be exposed to environments with heavy machinery and extreme weather conditions. Employee is required to talk, hear, stand, and walk long distances;including climbing stairs
